Main informations about Warta and sorroundings.
The commune is 253,90 square kilometres big. About 20% of this area is covered with forest full of fair game. Farmland is 16 thousand hectares big. The river running across the commune is Warta. In the 80ties a retaining reservoir ‘Jeziorsko’ has been built there. It is 42,30 square kilometres big and 60% of it is in the Warta commune. There is an ornithological nature reserve on the reservoir. The commune is resided by about 14 thousand people, 3,500 of them live in the town. Warta is in the northern part of Sieradz district and is its biggest commune. Domestic road number 83 (Sieradz – Konin) runs through the town. |
